| Duties: | Function as research and administrative assistant on a two-year project that will evaluate the effectiveness of a best practice in pressure ulcer prevention for nursing home residents. Duties include: Prepare literature reviews on pressure ulcer prevention; Data analysis (primarily descriptive and univariate statistics); Schedule, plan and participate in site visits to nursing homes; Train nursing home staff on data collection techniques, definitions and forms; Monitor data submission from nursing homes; Prepare quarterly progress reports on major tasks, including a detailed description of recruitment methodology and related statistics such as number of applications received, number of facilities considered eligible, number of facilities actually enrolled, number of facilities who submitted all requested data, etc.; Procurement activities, which include being part of the team that reviews and scores applications and selects the nursing home control sample based on application scores; Grant contract management, which includes ensuring that contractors have completed work in a timely fashion as per their grant work; and other duties as assigned.

| Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree and two years experience with social science or clinical research in health care, public health or human services. This experience should encompass at least three or more of the following: development of literature reviews, development of data collection techniques, conducting interviews for data collection purposes, training data collectors on data collection forms and techniques, data submission tracking, data management, statistical analyses, and drafting reports, papers and presentations. A Masters degree may be substituted for one year of experience. Must be willing to travel.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with the grant procurement process and grant contract management for a New York State agency; experience as an adult educator and trainer on technical subjects; excellent writing and interpersonal skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, etc.); strong organizational skills; ability to work independently; familiarity with nursing home environment.
Conditions of Employment: Grant funded position. Part time, 50% FTE position.
