| Duties: | The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and preparing grant applications, annual grant renewal packages, reports to funder/s and annual and other routine program progress reports for various audiences; assisting with development and review of program procurements and the preparation of program expenditure plans and all needed documents to implement plans. The incumbent will conduct research, synthesize information from various data sources, legislation, rules, policies, etc. and write or assist with the preparation, maintenance, review and dissemination of program communications, documents, and key forms for program staff and contractors as well as the Cancer Screening Services Operations Manual. The incumbent will also assist with review and editing of public education materials and maintenance of the CSP pages on the NYSDOH web site. The incumbent will provide program and contractor staff with up-to-date, accurate resources for general information about breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screening and the Cancer Services Program. Other duties as requested. |
| Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree and two years of progressively responsible administrative experience involving personnel, fiscal and/or operations management in a public health, health regulatory or human services related program; OR six years of such experience. A Masters degree may substitute for one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Strong writing, editing and communication skills; able to compose written material and amend reading level for multiple audiences. Experience with grant writing and reporting. Strong computer skills including demonstrated expertise in MS Office and familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, Quark Express, and other desktop publishing software. Strong organizational skills including priority setting, management of competing priorities, meeting multiple deadlines and multitasking. Experience in a public health, health regulatory or human services related program. Demonstrated leadership ability. Interview candidates will be asked to provide a 1-2 page writing sample.
